From Pearls to Published began with two young authors—Kenya and Cecilia—who believed their stories mattered.
After writing and publishing their first book through Pearls of Ubuntu, Kenya and Cecilia quickly realized something bigger: their friends had stories too—but no access to publishing, guidance, or support.
Instead of stopping at becoming authors, they became builders. Together, they helped create Pearls of Ubuntu Publishing, a youth-led publishing initiative designed to encourage, support, and publish young writers from their community.
What started with two authors grew into a movement. Today, more than 20 youth authors have been published—each with their own voice, story, and book—because Kenya and Cecilia chose to open the door and bring others with them.
This page celebrates where it all started, the leadership of Kenya and Cecilia, and the growing library of books written by young authors who were inspired to believe: “I can be published too.”
